Smoothies and Omega 3 with Flaxseed Oil
Smoothies are so easy to make, they are nutritious and delicious. I like to make mine for lunch because they are quick and when you have limited time that makes all the difference. I purchased a blender that I keep at work where I can make all my smoothies in my office. This particular recipe is great because it taste good and keeps my energy levels up. That is important especially during the mid-day slump.
1/2 coconut milk (you choose, there are so many variety’s out there now from canned to boxed)
1/2 cup of cooked organic sweet potato or yam
2 tablespoons Barleans High Lignan Flax oil
2 tablespoons of ground chia seeds
1 scoop of Amazing Grass Super foods original powder
1 scoop of Amazing grass Wheat grass powder
1 organic ripe kiwi
1/4 cup pitted cherries
1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or for chocoholics add 1 tablespoon of raw cocoa
I never add any type of sweetener to my smoothies, because the fruit is sweet enough, this also helps keep my smoothies at a low glycemic index.
Place all ingredients in blender, blend for 30 seconds or until smooth.
Keep in mind this is a very thick smoothie that I like to eat with a spoon, if you want a more liquid drink then add water
until desired consistency is met.
